born in Catania, Italy, Viola Di Grado now lives in London. Her first novel, Settanta Acrilico Trenta Lana (70% Acrylic 30% Wool, Europa Editions), won the 2011 Campiello First Novel Award and was a finalist for Italy’s most prestigious literary prize, The Strega. Her second novel, Cuore Cavo (Hollow Heart, Europa Editions) was a finalist at the PEN Literary Awards, IPTA Awards, and the International DUBLIN Literary Award. Her third novel, Bambini di ferro, has recently been published by La Nave di Teseo.
